DISCIPLINE

DISCIPLINE

Heyy Diary !

The most important ingredient to self-love is discipline.

A disciplined person knows how to regulate their behavior and actions in order to achieve the goals they’ve set their mind on. Discipline is the unwavering strength to remain consistently committed to the tasks required; whether it’s raining or shining.

Let’s be honest: not every day will feel like a breeze in the park. Some days, there will ne a storm. And in that moment, you’ll have to decide: do you stay in bed, or do you put on your raincoat and step outside, allowing the storm to build your character?

The interesting thing about discipline is that we always know when it’s required. It’s that quiet inner nudge. That feeling in situations where we’re aware of the aligned action we must take… yet the unaligned action feels more convenient. Easier. More comfortable in the moment, even when we know the long-term damage it may cause.

We always have a choice. We are aware of the right action. Discipline determines whether we follow through.

Disciplined actions can feel heavy because they are not yet programmed into our subconscious. We experience resistance toward tasks that are not yet part of our identity. And that is exactly why discipline is a key ingredient in self-love because it takes work to keep up with yourself.

Following the procedures required to feel your best can feel overwhelming when they aren’t yet integrated into who you are. Letting yourself “be” can feel lighter in the moment, almost like relief. But two months from now, you may look in the mirror and barely recognize the woman staring back at you. You may grieve the version of yourself you once knew, labeling her as your “prime.”

With discipline, you don’t grieve your prime.

You live in it.

It’s time to step into the reality of being disciplined. To embrace the discomfort that arises when your performing the actions that align with your higher self.

We are not naturally born disciplined. Discipline is a skill built over time. It develops when you decide that your goals are worth the experiences you must endure to achieve them.

Cheers to a new beginning, where we gradually learn and apply the skill of discipline to deepen the self-love we have for ourselves.

Anything we want, we can have.

It lives on the other side of discipline.

So ask yourself:

Is what I want worth the sacrifice required to build the skill of discipline?
